Rip Horkey, President of Woodford Homes, Inc., has an extensive background in building and property development. Woodford Homes, Inc. focus is the custom home market of Montgomery County, and has developed a solid working relationship with Grand Harbor on Lake Conroe, Bentwater, Pebble Glen, Walden, Water Oak among others around Lake Conroe. Beside development properties Woodford has built and renovated several ranch houses and barns.
Woodford is an approved custom builder through Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Frost, Woodforest, Amegy, Prosperity, and First Bank of Conroe among others. Prior to Woodford Homes, Rip operated Rip Horkey Fine Homes in Granbury and Fort Worth, Texas building one to four million dollar homes.
Growth potential and opportunity moved Rip and his wife, Nancy to Conroe. Since 2004, Woodford Homes Inc. has established a solid reputation as the builder of choice in custom homes from the $350’s and up in the Montgomery County area.
Rip grew up in construction, holding summer jobs during high school in framing, concrete, roofing and steel. Two summers were spent working for Artic Constructors in Alaska as a carpenter and operator on the Alyeska pipeline. Rip has degrees in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Texas. Prior ro 2001, he ran Horkey Construction, a subsiderary of Horkey Oil Company, Inc. Projects ranged from the low $100’s to over $8 million and included single-family homes, duplexes, a 96 unit apartment project, strip office and retail centers, convenience stores, travel centers and truck stops. Over 75 commercial projects throughout West Texas, each built with professionalism and craftsmanship, have given Rip a wide range of experience in property development and construction.

Nancy Horkey works with Woodford Homes in project development and customer sales. Nancy has developed our multifamily business, she works with the State of Texas Water Rights Board, U.S. Corp of Engineers, Local MUD utility districts, City of Conroe and County of Montgomery for development in Montgomery County. Additionally Nancy works with on and off site civil engineers, surveyors and architects.
